Broadway at the Beach

Broadway at the Beach Festival Retail

Broadway at the Beach is the largest festive entertainment complex in South Carolina. The attraction is set on 350 acres in the heart of Myrtle Beach. This dynamic development features 700,000 square feet of theaters, restaurants, specialty shops, attractions, nightclubs, and hotels, all surrounding the 23-acre Lake Broadway.

The complex has been named "Top Tourist Attraction" at the Governorʼs Conference on Travel and Tourism, and has won the South Carolina Governorʼs Cup when it was deemed the stateʼs best travel destination by the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism.

Four distinctive zones– New England Fishing Village, Caribbean Village, Charleston Boardwalk and Heroes Harbor–provide a fun, diverse environment for this dynamic complex. Over 100 shops showcasing unique gifts and specialty items are at Broadway at the Beach. With everything from fashion, jewelry and surf boards, to the Pavilion Nostalgia Park, kites and candles, there's something for everyone.

Broadway is home to several restaurants that offer everything from the all-American hamburger and milkshake to seafood and southwestern fajitas.

Wonderworks
WonderWorks (New in 2011)

The WonderWorks attraction is an "amusement park for the mind," combining education and entertainment in over 100 hands-on exhibits that will spark the imagination and stimulate the mind. Visitors to the attraction will enjoy a variety of experiences including being blown away by 74 mile per hour hurricane-force winds, maneuvering the controls of a NASA spacecraft to land the shuttle, lying on a bed of 3,500 nails, piloting a fighter jet, designing and riding a 360 degree virtual roller coaster and competing in a game of laser-tag.

Broadway also hosts three hotels. A lakeside Hampton Inn (843-916-0600) is located onsite and Lakeshore Village, a hotel park located across the street from the complex, offers a Fairfield Inn (843-444-8097) and a Holiday Inn Express (843-916-4993).

Broadway at the Beach includes a New Orleans-inspired nightclub district called Celebrity Square. Visitors have a variety of musical and dance venues to choose from, including rock, top-40, retro, country, and dueling pianos. Celebrity Squareʼs architecture creates a streetscape of one and two story buildings with ornate wrought iron balconies and cobblestone streets bedecked with celebrity handprints of the many stars who have played at the Palace Theatre.

Ripleys Aquarium
Ripleyʼs® Aquarium

Ripley's Aquarium is a $36 million, state-of-the-art attraction that houses sharks, piranhas, moray eels, and seahorses, to name just a few. A beautiful display called Rainbow Rock features jewel-colored fish native to the Pacific Ocean. Two exhibits encourage visitors to experience marine life firsthand by picking up horseshoe crabs in a special observation display, and by presenting a tropical lagoon where adults and children alike touch the graceful rays swimming by. The complex is a past recipient of the South Carolina Governor's Cup when the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreations and Tourism deemed it the state's best travel destination.

Broadway Cinema 16 is a 60,000 square foot cineplex with 2,500 seats featuring first run movies on 16 screens, equipped with DLP technology and stadium seating.
